What it does:

1toX splits data, from 36000 bytes to 4 GB.
For 1toX data is a file, several files, a folder, a folder plus some files, a hard disk, a zip disk...

1toX is an attractive and easy to use 32 bit file splitter allowing you to split any large file into pieces of any size and later reconstruct the pieces to form the original file.
1toX can split any file, regardless of type, size or long filename. This enables you to backup or transport large files on disk (floppy, hard disk, jaz disk, Zip-drive) or to email a huge file or a set of files in several messages or...

1toX splits files by different ways:

1toX adds to each splitted file (called 1toX file) a small header describing the file

Each 1toX file is a simple part of the original file (production of a batch 1toX)
The first 1toX file (called root) is suffixed according the type chosen.

So, you can produce three 1toX types:

.1TX: regular 1toX file, you can add a password
(e.g.: test.1tx, test.001, test.002... you will need 1toX to unsplit)

.1TB: batch 1toX file, you cannot add a password
(e.g.: test.bat, test.1tb, test.001, test.002... you unsplit by launching test.bat)

.EXE: self-uncut 1toX file, you can add a password.
(e.g.: test.exe, test.001, test.002... you unsplit by launching test.exe)

The size of the 1toX files is determined according two ways:

1toX lets you choose the size of the files it will produce
(1toX supports disk formats like 2.88 MB, 1.44 MB, 1.2 MB, Iomega Zip 100, 250 or user defined formats as well as Win 9x notepad format)

1toX finds itself the amount of free space on the drive you selected

More: when several files are selected they will be automatically zipped before splitting to gain space.
